The Rotary Club of Gresham The Rotary Club of Gresham is the foremost service organization, and one of the oldest, in the greater Gresham area. It meets each Wednesday at noon at Persimmon Country Club Grille, 500 SE Butler Road, Gresham. Its mission, the objectives it supports, and the manner in which it raises funds are listed elsewhere on this web site. The Rotary Club of Gresham is part of Rotary International, the service organization formed in Chicago in 1905 by Paul Harris and three of his friends. An association of some 31,000 autonomous clubs in 166 countries, Rotary International is one of the world's largest service organizations. The goal for a club's membership is an up-to-date and progressive representation of the community's business, vocational, and professional interests. Rotary club members are part of a diverse group of professional leaders working to address various community and international service needs. Through community service and other means, Rotary club members help promote peace and understanding throughout the world. Our members are our most important asset. They are the force that allows Rotary to carry out its many humanitarian efforts and achieve its mission. An important distinction between Rotary and other organizations is that membership in Rotary is by invitation. Rotary clubs invite individuals to join and become members. The Rotary Club of Gresham is always on the lookout for new, energetic, and committed members.
